A Grassroots Initiative for Lasting Change
Uplift Her Community-Based Organization (CBO) is a women-led climate action initiative based in Kilifi County, Kenya. We empower women and girls to become environmental champions and climate leaders through education, sustainable livelihoods, and community-driven conservation. Climate change is at the heart of everything we do—from climate-smart agriculture and tree planting to economic empowerment and girls' education—all designed to build resilient communities that can adapt and thrive in a changing world.
Through training, mentorship, and community-driven programs, we support women to build dignified livelihoods, champion environmental stewardship, and shape a more just and inclusive future.

Climate Action
Uplift Her CBO actively promotes climate resilience by empowering women and girls to take leading roles in environmental stewardship. We provide training in climate-smart agriculture; including agrivoltaics, micro-irrigation, agroforestry, organic farming, soil conservation, and water harvesting; to improve food security and restore degraded ecosystems. Our environmental conservation initiatives, such as tree planting, community clean-ups, recycling campaigns, and climate awareness sessions, strengthen sustainable community practices. Also, by engaging school girls in climate clubs and hands-on environmental activities, we cultivate a generation of informed and active climate champions.
Economic Empowerment
We strengthen climate resilience through green economic empowerment. Our programs equip women with skills in climate-smart enterprises including sustainable agribusiness, eco-friendly product development, renewable energy solutions, and green entrepreneurship. Through vocational training in areas such as organic farming, climate-adaptive tailoring, eco-tourism, and digital green marketing, we help women build sustainable, climate-friendly livelihoods. Our entrepreneurship development programs provide business coaching focused on environmental sustainability, financial literacy for green ventures, and support for income-generating activities that protect rather than harm our environment.

Education & Leadership
We champion climate education and environmental leadership for women and girls as the foundation for lasting change. Our education initiatives integrate climate literacy into girls' schooling, teaching them about environmental conservation, climate science, and sustainable practices. We address barriers such as period poverty and early marriage while promoting school retention and academic success in STEM fields related to environmental science. Through climate-focused mentorship circles, school environmental clubs, and green leadership development programs, we nurture the next generation of climate champions who will lead community adaptation and mitigation efforts.
Psychosocial Support
We recognize the importance of emotional and psychological well-being in achieving holistic empowerment. Our psychosocial support programs offer counseling, safe spaces for dialogue, and peer-support groups that help women and girls navigate social, emotional, and economic challenges. Through mentorship and resilience-building activities, we promote mental wellness, confidence, and a supportive sense of community that enables participants to thrive and overcome barriers to personal and collective growth.

Agrivoltaics Training in Kilifi
Uplift Her's Executive Director and Program Officer conducted a hands-on training on climate-smart agriculture through agrivoltaics in Mnarani, Kilifi County. The session introduced women and young mothers to the concept of cultivating crops under solar panels—demonstrating how the same piece of land can sustainably produce both food and clean energy. Through practical learning and discussions, participants gained insight into how agrivoltaics can strengthen climate resilience, improve food security, and expand economic opportunities for women-led households.
Intersolar Africa 2026
Uplift Her team participated in Intersolar Africa 2026, where industry leaders, manufacturers, and innovators from across the renewable energy sector convened to showcase solutions shaping Africa's clean energy future. Through high-level discussions, interactive exhibitions, and strategic networking engagements, the event strengthened our technical knowledge and industry connections. The insights gained will directly enhance Uplift Her's trainings and capacity-building programs in agrivoltaic agriculture, reinforcing our commitment to advancing climate-smart solutions for women and communities across Kenya.
